New Year Immersion Weekend:

Yoga for engaging with your life from within

January 24 - 26, 2020

at Ashtanga Yoga Richmond

Svādhyāya:

स्वाध्यायादिष्टदेवतासंप्रयोगः॥

Study thy self, discover the divine.

— Patanjali’s Yogasutra, II.44

Svādhyāya (स्वाध्याय) is a concept found in the 8-limbs of Ashtanga Yoga, which designates the importance of self-study as a foundation for conscientious living. This 3-day immersion will provide a forum for spiritual self-education as we engage in self observation through the introspective practices of focused breathing, internal listening, and restful yoga asana (postures). We will delve into yogic/spiritual teachings which can guide us in this process of self-examination, help us to clarify our life philosophy, and evaluate if we are living by values which we hold dear. The weekend will culminate with us purposefully  intertwining our spiritual study, life philosophy, and intentions so our experience can be practically applied to continued self-exploration and more intentional living.

This weekend immersion provides YA Registered Yoga Teachers with 10 direct-contact continuing education hours. (3.5 Techniques, Training & Practice hours & 6.5 Yoga Philosophy, Lifestyle & Ethics hours)
